About Us
Cadillac is "THE STANDARD OF THE WORLD" and we feel good about being able
to recycle Cadillac vehicles in a way that is environmentally friendly; while saving
our customers money on keeping their classic, daily driver, or show car running
and looking it's best.
Our mother and father started the company on September 1st. of 1963, after
being in the gas station business. A&A was a dismantling yard, but back then
the emphasis was on scrap. By the late 1960's we were changing to a full
service parts oriented wrecking yard. The early 1970's saw big changes.
We started specializing in Cadillac's and expanded by moving in 1973 to our
current large 10 acre facility in Brentwood, California. Buy 1980 we were a
Cadillac only recycling yard. We also started a car retail facility and 5 years
later, had a complete repair shop going. In 1995 we jumped into the custom
car building business, and today we have the WORLDS LARGEST CADILLAC
ONLY PARTS FACILITY, with repair shop, car lot, and custom car divisions.
A&A usually runs 10-12 employees. Our main advantage is being in
business 43 years, having the experience of knowing your product, and
by having the Parts Dept., Service Dept., and Sales Dept. all in one facility.
Gar and Val Tompkins, along with Steve White and Nick Kooy have
125 years of Cadillac experience between them.
Our customers are a diverse group. We ship car parts all over the globe. We
have customers keeping their daily drivers going. We sell to insurance
companies and body shops fixing late model Cads. We have customers,
restoring classics and some just beginning their journey to that perfect ride.
Our show cars have toured the U.S., our latest is on it's way to see Europe for
the first time. We have won both; The America's Best Custom and Worlds Best
Custom awards. Our customs have been featured cars in numerous shows
and have had extensive coverage in magazine, television, newspapers, along
with videos both documentary and music. Our show cars are sought after by
the average guys and celebrities alike.
We stay involved in the industry belonging to The Bay Area Auto Dismantlers
B.A.A.D.A., State of California S.C.A.D.A., and with our International association
A.R.A. Gar Tompkins was past president of B.A.A.D.A., and currently serves on
the board of directors for B.A.A.D.A., and S.C.A.D.A.; working with business
leaders, government agencies and environmental groups to help keep our country
clean and energy efficient. We also enjoy a close relationship with the automotive
industry as a whole in working on better high tech ways for providing safe and
more progressive recycling. We are always involved with local service groups
and provide support through sponsorships for The Boy and Girl Scouts, Little
League, Soccer, Swimming, Special Olympics and also help by volunteering
at local events.
